Research and Practice in International Health
Research and practice in international health is of fundamental importance in a
world of changing demographics and increasing political complexity. Health care issues
are no longer limited by geographic and socio-political boundaries. Whilst local
knowledge and skills are essential in health maintenance and illness prevention,
major health problems are also common across countries. Their roots and potential
solutions may often be found outside national bound
competence and flexibility in managing and delivering appropriate health
programs is essential. It is well recognised that programs which are successful in
one place may frequently fail when applied elsewhere.
