Our Aims
The Centre aims to:
- Prepare and train professionals for the role of change agent in dynamic health
systems.
- Develop and provide an understanding of significant health problems and issues
in developed and developing countries.
- Facilitate the acquisition of skills for the enhancement of planning, management,
evaluation and research of health care.
The aims of the Centre will be achieved by offering not only a tiered postgraduate
education program, but also by developing international health research and consultancy
activities.
Features
The features of the Centre are:
- Provision of conceptual frameworks for international health training, practice
and research and development.
- Promotion of the development and maintenance of inter-country co-operation in
understanding, researching and managing health issues.
- Co-ordination and delivery of educational programs that provide health specialists
with the competence to meet local and international needs.
- Co-ordination and strengthening of research and development activities in international
health.
- Expansion of cross-institutional linkages within Australia and across the Asia-Pacific
region.
- Establishment of collaborative programs with national and international institutions.
- Seeking external support through grants, contracts and outside resources for
the Centre's activities.
- Presentation of the Centre's activities at international conferences and via
the publication of research papers and other articles.
